Hey guys! I want to take a little bit of a different approach with this post, so I hope you enjoy (and relate)!
It’s okay…that I prefer almond butter to peanut butter–hands down!
It’s okay…that I like to mostly eat healthy foods, even supposedly disordered “diet food” like veggies and nonfat yogurt. Just because I’m in recovery doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy these things.
It’s okay…to eat a mostly-vegan diet but still have Greek yogurt (a lot!) and froyo/gelato every so often.
It’s okay…that I can’t live without Whole Foods. I’d probably be broke if I was spending my own money 😉
- I love the salad bars especially! This delicious mess was Asian kale salad, curried tofu, roasted sweet potato and curried quinoa pilaf.
It’s okay…that I’ve never made oats on the stove. Overnight oats are where it’s at for me!
- One of my favorite overnighters combos to date: PB&J remix oats, topped with black grapes and PB Puffins.
It’s okay…that I LOVE carbs!
It’s okay…that this is my lunch when I’m on-the-go–and I love it!
It’s okay…to sometimes have breakfast for dinner–with some squash on the side.
It’s okay…that I’ve never had a Lara bar. Because I love Pure bars instead!
It’s okay…that I can take way better pictures at home than I can at school.
- This is one of my favorite pics ever, I actually got a pretty good closeup of this salad. Compare this to my lame photos now with crap lighting.
Answer your own “It’s okay…” question!
I love this because I can relate to learning to accept myself. Btw, my mom got me a jar of almond butter and I don’t know if I could ever go back to pb haha. And mine would beee it’s okay that I’ve been lacking in the exercise department because I’d much rather be in the kitchen 🙂
I agree with the exercise one! I’m so busy with school and I think walking around campus all day counts as exercise for sure 😉 I would much rather be in the kitchen too!
This is a great post I might steal the idea in the future but do it with my own its okay sententences 😉
Yes! Definitely steal it haha 😀
Fun post 🙂 Im with you on the AB/PB debat! AB is the only way to go!
For me it would be : its okey to eat chocolate twice (or more) a day, every day! Its been this way for years, and I really cant see an end to it 😉
Chocolate is GOOD–I’m glad you enjoy it!
I did a post almost identical to this before 🙂 breakfast for dinner is DEFINITELY okay ! Just like the fact that I go through industrial size cinnamon containers in very short periods of time!
Gosh, I need to find a giant cinnamon shaker like that! I’ve been really loving cinnamon lately!
Dude I love this post so much!! I am over the moon for the puffins and the almond butter action 🙂
I also agree about the whole foods one, it’s my drug!!
Haha yesssss I just can’t quit it–but I don’t want to 😉
yess girl it’s totally okay that you love carbs! i am a total carb lover too 🙂
Yay carbs 😀
I SO love this post, and all of your blog! Way to take the pressure off of yourself 🙂 We all need to take a lesson from you! I’ll start with: It’s okay to have a little down time every now and then.
Thank you! And I agree with what you said, down time is nothing to be ashamed of, especially if you’re always on the go!
Even though your ‘almost’ vegan, youre still doing better for the environment and animals than someone who isnt trying at all.
That is why I do it, it feels so good to be supporting animals and the environment and being mindful. One day I’d love to be completely vegan, that’s why I love your blog because you have the best recipes and you show that veganism isn’t impossible!
Great post,Ashley! 😀
It really shows that it’sabsolutely alright not to be perfect.I should honestly take a lesson from you!
Thank you! I think a lot of people (me included) struggle with perfectionism but it’s okay to not be perfect at all!
it’s okay to be the real me.
here’s my article on it (featuring carrie bradshaw from sex and the city!).

I’m glad you’re accepting your true self 🙂
Mmmmmm Pure bars..sooo tasty. It’s OK that I am beyond obsessed with my cat..maybe.
They are so good aren’t they? And I wish I had a cat, they’re so cute and funny!
Night breakfast is the best. And I’ve still yet to try almond butter. Maybe I need to finally buy a jar this weekend. And you have to have frozen yogurt/gelatto every once in a while. I’m a sort of vegan but I still indulge in that stuff when I want to.
Trust me, you will probably love AB! The only downside is the price, it’s definitely more than PB, but if you can grind it yourself it’s usually cheaper.
I’m a pb fan 🙂 I hate how people get all judgmental when it comes to “diet food” – I’m eating enough, I’m eating what I want, just let me be! Love breakfast for dinner too!! Puffins are acceptable any time of day.
That’s what I think I hate the most–it’s not like I’m only eating diet food or just small amount. People need to stop being so judgmental!
Puffins are great any time of day for sure 😀
It’s ok that I love vegan food but I love getting some animal protein in too! It keeps me fit and healthy 🙂
I definitely agree!
It’s okay that I am going to get like 4 hours of sleep tonight… okay maybe its not okay…
But I LOVE your heart shaped bowls 😀
Thank you 😀 I love them too, they make me so happy!
Almond butter > peanut butter for sure! And those PBandJ oats look right up my alley. Love your site..so encouraging!
The PB&J oats are my favorite combination for sure–they’re so good 😀
I’m definitely with you on the almond butter love! And the Whole Foods salad bar is great! I’m jealous of what you got. 😛 Pure Bars are amazing. The chocolate brownie one really tastes like a brownie, but it’s okay that I still love my Lara’s too. 🙂
Cute post! 🙂
It’s definitely okay that you love Laras! They come in so many interesting flavors–I’d love to find one that I really love!
This is great!! I love it and can relate to some of it too!! 😀
Yay, thanks!
I love this post. I am totally going to have to steal the idea. I also love nut butter more than peanut butter. It is just soooo delicious.
Steal away 😉
I love almond butter! I still enjoy hazelnut and peanut butter just as much as almond butter though 🙂
I really like this post; it’s awesome you can accept that it’s okay to do things that others may think are out of the ordinary.
Ooh I’ve never had hazelnut butter, it sounds really delicious though!
Carbs for the win 🙂 Breakfast for dinner is my fav (actually breakfast anytime is my fave!)
Breakfast is the best isn’t it?
